This privacy policy explains what personal data we collect on vipshom.com, why, and what your rights are. It relies on the Data Protection Act 2017 of Mauritius.
Privacy policy: who is responsible for your data?
Sélénite Ltd, which operates the VIP’S H’OM agency, processes your data. Its director, Jess Trujillo, represents it (see the legal notice). For any question about your data, write to info@vipshom.com.
Privacy policy: what data do we collect?
When you use the contact form, we receive your name, your e-mail address, your telephone number and your message. This information is optional, but without it we cannot reply to you. Then, if you become a client, we ask you for identity documents and supporting documents, because the law requires us to verify the identity of our clients (KYC). In that case, you must provide them. You will find the details on the page FIU and KYC in Mauritius.
Privacy policy: why do we use this data?
- To reply to your request and support you in your property project.
- To carry out the transactions and checks that the law requires.
We never sell your data. In addition, we make no automated decisions about you, and we do not use your data for advertising without your consent.
How long do we keep your data?
We keep your messages for as long as needed to handle your request, then we delete them. However, we keep KYC verification documents for seven years, because Mauritian anti-money laundering law requires it.
Who has access to your data, and do we transfer it abroad?
Only our agency has access to it. However, some technical providers process it for us: Infomaniak, in Switzerland, which hosts the site and our e-mail service, and Jetpack (Automattic), in the United States, which provides technical tools to the site. As a result, these providers may process your data outside Mauritius. In addition, the law may require us to pass it on to the competent authorities, such as the FIU.
What are your rights?
You may ask for access to your data, its correction, its deletion or a limit on its use, and you may object to its processing, within the limits of our legal obligations. You may also withdraw your consent at any time. To do so, write to us at info@vipshom.com. If you believe that we do not respect your rights, you may also contact the Data Protection Office of Mauritius.
